QUOTE OF THE DAY

Sheryl Crow about boyfriend Lance Armstrong:

He's better about shaving his legs than I am," Crow said. "The pressure's on me to keep my legs smooth."
BREAKING NASCAR NEWS
DEI and Waltrip part ways after 2005: Dale Earnhardt Incorporated (DEI) and Michael Waltrip announced today they will no longer be together beginning in 2006. The DEI #15 NAPA Chevrolet has been driven by Michael Waltrip, a fan-favorite, in the NASCAR Nextel Cup Series for the past five seasons where he earned four victories, including two Daytona 500 wins in 2001 and 2003. "All of us at DEI want to thank Michael for all his contributions to our organization and wish him well as he moves on in his career," said Richie Gilmore, DEI's Vice President of Motorsports. "Dale and Teresa gave me an opportunity with a winning organization that I have been proud to be an integral part of for the last five years," Waltrip said. "My professional relationship with DEI is ending, but my personal relationships have ties that are deep-rooted. Therefore, my decision to leave DEI is a difficult one. Our individual visions for the future are taking different courses, but our goals are the same- to be successful in the premier division of NASCAR.""DEI's NASCAR Nextel Cup focus for 2006," continued Gilmore, "will be to sharpen every entity of our race teams by preparing the #1 Bass Pro Shops Chevrolet, driven by Martin Truex Jr., and the No. 8 Budweiser Chevrolet driven by Dale Earnhardt Jr., for the championship. Additionally, we are working diligently with our current partner, NAPA, on returning to the #15 car."(DEI PR)

Latest on Will Ferrell's NASCAR movie: Wacky comedian Will Ferrell is roaring toward Charlotte to film a NASCAR comedy here this fall. Now, you might automatically imagine Ferrell exploring how fast he can go through a fast-food drive-through, and there will be plenty of Ferrell's silly screen antics. But experts say the movie represents something significant: This will be the first major studio project made in the state [North Carolina] in three years. The reason? The state is poised to get back in the race for film projects by offering more competitive funding incentives for filmmakers. According to sources close to the Columbia Studios project, Ferrell will be here from about September to December, filming at a Charlotte studio and at racetracks and nearby towns. The project was formerly titled "Talladega Nights," but that name has been dropped. It is now being referred to as "The Untitled Will Ferrell NASCAR Comedy." (Expect that to change.) Sources close to the project could not say where the film is set, or if that issue has been decided. The NASCAR comedy is slated for release sometime next year. "That film was set for Alabama," Frank Capra Jr., president of Wilmington's ScreenGem Studios, says of the Ferrell comedy. "The incentives -- or the promise of the incentives -- are what brought it to Charlotte." Some Carolinians might get into the act, too. At least some actors will be needed, and perhaps plenty of extras to fill racing grandstands.(Charlotte Observer)(7-14-2005)

I'm Such a Klutz

Yesterday I experienced my first ride on a Jet Ski. I had never been on one before so I was very, very nervous about going. It ended up being really fun. Loren and I only fell of once, when he was playing around doing 360's. So this morning I wake up and my body is very sore. Legs, butt and arms (from holding on so tight, if I fell he was going down with me). This afternoon as I walked down the steps from my desk my leg gives out and I fall to my knees twisting my foot in the process. Now I'm sitting here at work with my leg propped up with ice on it. Its not too bad just a little sore and swollen. Got to love it!

Jamie McMurray to drive the #6 car for Roush Racing in 2007

McMurray to the #6?.....in 2007? UPDATE: hearing that Jamie McMurray, current driver of the #42 Texaco Dodge for Chip Ganassi, has signed a multi-year agreement with Roush Racing to drive the #6 Ford beginning in 2007. Hmm...so who drives the #6 in 2006?(7-6-2005)UPDATE: Chip Ganassi Racing with Felix Sabates announced today that it will part ways with driver Jamie McMurray following the 2006 NASCAR NEXTEL Cup season. "Jamie's made a decision to go in another direction after we've both fulfilled the commitment that we made to each other in 2002," said team owner Chip Ganassi. "We didn't do a good job of conveying to Jamie where this team is headed, but we expect a lot of success with Jamie the rest of this year and next year, and we wish him the best in his future endeavors beyond that." Team owner Felix Sabates added, "This is a total team sport and the Texaco/Havoline team will continue to stay focused on making the Chase and running for the Championship this season, next season and well into the future."

This is another picture from Tahquamenon Falls. This is part of the Upper Falls.
This is an awesome picture I got of the sunset on Sunday night. A storm was coming in and the sky just looked amazing. We had to drive forever to actually find a clearing to take a good picture.
Here's another picture of the shoreline of Mackinac Island
This is the Grand Hotel. If you've ever seen the movie "Somewhere in Time" with Christopher Reeve and Jane Seymour alot of it was filmed here.
This one is of me and the "kids" (Cindy's niece and son) at Tahquamenon Falls.
I took this picture out of my windshield while we were crossing the Mackinac Bridge.
Back from vacation I have some photos's to share. First up this is the Arch Rock on Mackinac Island. I absolutely LOVE this picture!

Here's a cool Elliott Sadler pic I found!
Here's one of the pictures I took at the race last weekend. Brian Vickers trying to get to pit road
as you can see, he did not make it, he hit the tires and water barrels instead!

Redneck Day

Yeah I'm in love with the girl in the four-wheel drive
Chrome steel bumpers and red step side
She has a large time in her large machine
Man I wonder how she gets up in that thing
It casts a big shadow sittin in the sun
She's got it revved up rockin ready to run
And someday soon I'm gonna climb right up
And take a little ride in her big ol' truck

For some odd reason this chorus from the Toby Keith song "Big Ol' Truck" is stuck in my head today.

I love reading the Power Rankings that come out on Tuesday's at 11am on nascar.com.
Some of my favorites from today:

  • Here is what happens every week, in case you don't watch NASCAR: Ryan gets the pole. Kasey gets the girl. Biffle gets the win. Dale Jr. gets the post race interview.

  • Did you see where Tom Cruise got doused with water from the fake microphone? We'd like to see someone try that with Tony Stewart. After they did it, they'd get their name in the obits.

  • We actually got this email last week. Here it is, unedited:
"Tell Dale, Jr. to get some of that old time medicine they used to use for reoccurring boil and put it on that "zit" that keeps coming back on his chin. Then tell him to wash his face good and use Strident Medicated Pads to get all the grease and oil out of his skin. It has caused an ingrown hair to get infected and he needs to get the core out of that spot on his chin. The name of the medicine is "Ichthammol Ointment 20% by Goldline. It is over the counter medicine. His daddy used to constantly tell him about the way he wore his caps - he finally listen and wears his sponsor's stuff now and properly. That place on his chin does not look good on TV. The young on is hard headed as a mule. Tell him to be careful and hold his head up high."

I Had a Dream Last Night......
That I got married. Yeah me, MARRIED! I think the reason I had this dream was because of the fact that pretty much everyone I know is getting married or already married (and I was watching stuff about weddings on VH1 before i went to bed). I really have no desire to get married, actually I like my life the way it is right now. But all I know is that in my dream I had a kick ass wedding and my dress was awesome! I suppose its alright to dream about such things, what girl doesn't?

This is soooo me! Thanks Heidi!

You Know You're Addicted to Alias When...

At every fast food joint you go to, you order "the special, no pickles" regardless of the fact that you LIKE pickles.
You believe wearing a colorful wig and tight clothing can help you get away with anything.
You check the sides of old book pages for Russian characters.
Every time you see a black Mercedes, it reminds you of Sark.
You notice every Ford Focus on the road.
You use the phrase "There are just so many problems with this..." at every possible opportunity.
You have suspicions that your spouse may actually be a double.
Your non- Alias obsessed friends (like you have any of those left! Hah!) refuse to talk to you about Italians, prophecies, pickles, wigs, parent/daughter relationships, spies or anything else that might lead to a discussion about Alias.
You actually BUY a blue Ford Focus. (With gold rims, of course)
You wonder if Sark actually could be Irina's son.
You develop opinions and theories about this and other unanswered facets of the show, and spend a large amount of time formulating arguments for both sides of the debate.
The main question you ask yourself shopping is "Would Sydney wear something like this?"
You have seen every episode. Ever. More than 5 times a piece.
You went to see Daredevil just for Jennifer Garner.
You flip out when you see Michael Vartan in One Hour Photo married to someone else.
The mention of weddings, rings, or two years just gets you incredibly ticked off.
After getting a bad grade on a paper you tell your friend about your professor saying "legally he's right, ethically he's an ass."
If the topic of TV shows comes up, you automatically ask the person "Do you watch Alias?" and if they say they've never heard of it... you immediately end the conversation.
You hear the songs played in the show.. and you instinctively listen for the lines of the characters.. and know precisely when their lines occurred in the song.
Your history teacher mentions something about the KGB.. and you suddenly think "Irina?"
You have a codename that people actually call you by.
You think having no first name is a perfectly acceptable thing.
Old Asian men in wheelchairs creep you out.
You will never view epoxy in the same way again.
You find yourself trying to find good, compelling reasons to sway your significant other that your next child/pet should be named "Irina" or "Sydney."
You feel aggravated and insulted when you watch the episode of "Frasier" where Victor Garber plays Dr. Crane's British butler. ("Years of agent training and experience, wasted...")
You feel a strange urge to bite Mike Tyson's ear off every time you think of "Jimmy Kimmel Live."
Whenever you hear a truly interesting song, you immediately think of how that song would fit into a scene from Alias.
You find yourself criticizing the REAL CIA based solely on your knowledge of Alias.
You think Jerry Springer's guests have boring, uncomplicated family/friend relationships and easy, simple-to-fix personal problems.
You become incredibly irritated when people say, "That girl Sydney, doesn't she really report to someone else?" and can tell them exactly how many episodes behind the times they are.
You begin fantasizing about planting listening devices on your significant other's work clothes, just to see if you can find anything exciting/spy-worthy.
You know what J/I, S/V, S/W, Sarkney, Slark, slash, and shipper are, and have opinions on all of them.
Every time you hear the Nokia ringtone, you get excited even though there's no way it could be Vaughn.
You look for air vents you could crawl into incase of an emergency.
On Monday morning instead of saying "hello" to your friend you just say "Did you SEE VAUGHN'S BOXERS???"
The only people you have on your AIM buddy list are people you've met through Alias
When you begin to doze off in history class and only snap back to attention when the teacher uses the words "Alliance" or "Covenant."
You record every episode, then go out and buy the DVDs as well.
You dream about Irina Derevko at least once a week.
You assume that anyone who wears dark eyeliner is evil.
You meet a nice person and immediately become suspicious of their motives.
You constantly try to figure out ways to get Jack and Irina back together.
You actually get these jokes and pass them on to other friends who are addicted to Alias.

Found on NASCAR.COM:
True story: We were in a sports bar watching Carl's Busch win, and these frat boys were watching basketball on the other screen. When Carl does his backflip, one of them goes, "Dude, I must be really drunk, because I swear that NASCAR racer did a backflip."

Carl Flips! Posted by Hello
CARL EDWARDS WINS THE GOLDEN CORRAL 500 AT ATLANTA!
I have to say one of the best finishes to a race that I've seen in awhile. Too bad the race end was this exciting last year when I was actually there! Carl passed Jimmie on the final lap, winning by only 0.028 seconds--about half a car length. He completed the weekend sweep winning both the Busch race on Saturday along with the Nextel Cup win Sunday. He is the first driver to complete this feat in Atlanta, and adds himself to the list of drivers winning races in all 3 series, Craftsman Truck, Busch and Nextel Cup. To celebrate his victory Carl Edwards climbed out of his car, balanced himself on the window ledge, gave a quick glance over his shoulder to make sure all was clear, then launched into the air backward. Completing his signature move--the backflip. Congratulations to Carl Edwards on his Nextel Cup win!

WHY DID I MOVE BACK TO MICHIGAN?????
Forget My Friends....I want a NASCAR plate!

Georgia NASCAR Plates moving along: Georgia state lawmakers are trying to make it official, giving the green light Thursday to NASCAR-themed license plates for Georgia motorists. Sen. Chip Rogers (R-Woodstock) said a constituent driving through Mississippi noticed a Dale Earnhardt tag there and asked him to bring them to Georgia. Senate Bill 168 would allow Georgians to choose from about 40 plates featuring drivers, including the late champion Earnhardt and racing legend Richard Petty. If the House agrees, the plates would cost $25 and be available beginning in January. Passage in the House shouldn't be a problem: It approved a resolution Thursday making every April 29 Dale Earnhardt Day in Georgia

Mexican Bar, Bowling, 2 Good Movies and One Stupid One

I had an interesting weekend. It wasn't too exciting.....just different. Friday night Loren calls me at 7:00 to tell me we are going out to eat at 9:00 with a guy that he works with and his girlfriend at some new mexican restaurant that opened near his work. That's fine and all.......but I had already eaten, so I tell him I'll just drink MARGARITAS instead of eating. We get to the restaurant, which happens to have more of a bar atmosphere, even had a dj playing some tunes. The food turned out to be pretty good. I ended up having some chips and salsa(which was really hot!) and a couple margaritas(which were pretty strong). Good, but it didn't hold a candle to the place Heidi and I used to go to when I lived in Georgia. They had the best margaritas EVER!

Saturday night was bowling night. I didn't do so well this weekend. Bowled a 96, 74 and 104. I seriously think I need to go practice. After bowling we watched the movie "Saw." It was a STUPID movie....I'm pissed I wasted my time watching this movie. The beginning moved too slow and the end was stupid. Waste of my time!

Sunday....this is the day that made me realize.....I DON'T WANT KIDS. LOL at least at the moment anyway. I went to Saginaw with Cindy and her boys. Tyler's 12 and he's a good kid, but Spencer who's 5....lately he's being a little shit. Doesn't listen, talks back and has a major attitude problem. I hope for Cindy's sake that he's just going through a stage. After we got back from shopping, we watched "Uptown Girls." I really liked the movie. It was a cute movie. Ronda called me and invited me to come over to her house later on that night, so I ended up going over there and watching "The Village." I really, really liked that movie. So I saw 2 good movies this weekend......and one really stupid one. I guess everything can't be perfect!

SARA EVANS ROCKS!
Friday night we went and seen Sara Evans, Brad Paisley and Andy Griggs. Out of the 3 Sara Evans was the best. She was awesome. The best part was when she did a cover of Belinda Carlisle "Heaven is a Place on Earth." It was the greatest part of the whole night! Besides the fact that we ended up on the local news that night at 11pm. When our group walked in all decked out in our cowboy hats and stuff they interviewed us. It was pretty cool!

I AM CRABBY THIS MORNING!

So this morning I am a bitch from hell. It is all because I didn't get up early to get all my shit done. I got home at 11pm last night. I needed to do a load of laundry so I would have my white tank top clean to wear tonight for the Brad Paisley/Sara Evans concert. I got a new kick ass brown western type shirt....its really, really cute. So anyway by midnight I finally got to bed, but I didn't get anything packed. I set my alarm for 5:45 hoping to get up early and get all my stuff done....ironing, packing, etc. 15 minutes later at 6am I finally got up. I had to rush around all morning like a chicken with my head cut off getting everything together. I thought I had everything until I realized I couldn't find my concealer. I was already running late for work so I said screw it. Now I have to run to probably Fairway today and pick up another one. Ugh....its just been one of those days.......so I am having a damn donut this morning.....AND IT IS GOOD!

Ashton, Ashton, Ashton.....

NASCAR miffed at 'redneck' dig: Whatever happens, don't mention the word "redneck" around NASCAR officials. Before yesterday's race, honorary starter actor Ashton Kutcher joked that he was told not to wear jeans for the job. "One of the greatest redneck sports and they tell me I can't wear blue jeans," Kutcher said at a press briefing. "I've never watched a race in khaki pants before." His comment was met with a chorus of moans from NASCAR insiders in the room, causing Kutcher to add he was also a redneck and said he meant the comment in a positive way.(New York Daily News)(2-21-2005)

DAYTONA 500 BLUES
Jeff Gordon won....enough said about that, I would have much rather seen Dale Earnhardt Jr. win than him. The race itself was ok.....pretty much boring until 30 laps to go. In fact I enjoyed the commercials more than the race itself during the first 2 hours. Elliott Sadler ended up finishing 11th which I considered pretty good. Kasey Kahne on the other hand finished 22nd not so good. Next week they head out to California. Sadler won there this past labor day so I'm hoping he does well again!

8 More Hours til My Weekend Starts!!
We are leaving for the U.P. (upper peninsula for you not familar with Michgan terms) tonight and I can't wait!! I just hope that there is plenty of snow up there for snowmobiling. I'm hearing conflicting reports about snow amounts and I don't know what to believe. I do know that we all will have fun no matter what we do I promise you that! I've been looking forward to this trip for over a month so it will be fun!

SUPER BOWL CHAMPS!!!
Once again New England Patriots are Super Bowl champs!! I am excited about this.....but not as excited as I usually am......must be because of the long ass weekend I had. I barley stayed awake during the Super Bowl, and that is not a normal thing for me. I'm just really burned out, and I'm really looking forward to my snowmobiling vacation to the Upper Peninsula on Thursday. To make things shitty though...I have a sty on my eyelid and it hurts like a bitch! So now I'm probably going to have to wear my glasses all week. Hopefully it clears up before Friday, because wearing glasses and snowmobiling isn't going to work well together. But other than that and being tired, I'm actually in a good mood.

Crappy day so far.....
I'm not feeling very playful today at all in fact I am very exasperated today. I had to get up at 4:55 this morning so...... I've been dragging ass all day. I am really looking forward to a nap and some aspirin after I get out of work tonight. Haven't really eaten much today either....which is good because I'm working on becoming less rotund. I don't really know what I'm doing tonight. Staying home and sleeping all night sounds like a plan, but the Snowfest is going on in Frankenmuth and me not going to a beer tent is like Bugs Bunny not eating carrots. It just doesn't happen!

OK......so its been almost 2 months since I've last posted.....
There has been a lot of changes in my life the past 2 months. In no particular order I got a snowmobile, one of my best friends is getting married, I'm going back to school to be a nurse, the New England Patriots are in the Super Bowl (again whoo hoo!) and I suppose you could say I have a boyfriend (give me time I'm still getting used to that fact at the moment). See lots of stuff going on! I really can't believe I let my blog go for so long!! So hopefully now I'll be posting on a regular basis.......and hopefully some of my readers are still around!!
